An interdisciplinary research team in Dresden and Jena is investigating the human sense of smell and its significance for health and well-being, orientation and safety. The aim of the "Olfactorial Perceptronics" project is to develop a digital nose to help people without a sense of smell or to detect sources of danger. Medical, psychological and technical aspects of smelling are presented interactively in the "Showcase of Research".

In cooperation with the Technical University of Dresden, the Carl Gustav Carus University Hospital and the Friedrich Schiller University Jena
