Tell us the story of your favourite outfit. Worn out? Out of fashion? You no longer fit into it? Yet you can't part with it because you just can't bring yourself to do so? Clothes can remind us of the past, of travelling and staying at home, of joy and sorrow.
The winner of the Dresden Scholarship for Photography, Mia Unverzagt, is going in search of such textile memorabilia.
You are invited to bring along an item of clothing or another object made of fabric (a handkerchief, a pillowcase, a blanket, a towel or something similar) that is meaningful to you and talk to the artist about its origins. It is about the fabric of memories and stories, linked to textiles, of Dresdeners.
In the second part, the artist becomes active as a photographer. Pictures will be taken - of your textile memorabilia, with you, without you - this will be arranged together. The resulting documentation and photos will be turned into a book, a catalogue. Participants will of course be invited to the premiere at the Dresden Technology Collections.
