From idea to lamp: prototyping with cardboard and LEDs

Holiday workshop for girls as part of the crossmediatour

Tue / 11. Aug
9:30

In this 3-day course, you’ll be crafting, building and, finally, switching on the light! Working in teams, you’ll design and build your own small lamp prototype based on your own wishes and ideas. In the design process, a prototype is an early, functional model that can be easily made using cardboard. We’ll show you how it’s done and can’t wait to see your creative ideas!

Using simple materials, tools, LEDs and a bit of creativity, you’ll create a genuine designer piece step by step. The technical side of things is straightforward: we’ll be soldering, gluing and working with LED lights that are perfect for DIY projects. You don’t need any prior experience – just a desire to build something with your own hands.

  • The course is for girls only.
  • Age: 12 to 16 years
  • Duration: 3 days –
    , 11–13 August, 9.30 am–4.30 pm each day
  • Meals included; travel costs may be covered
