App ‘Cat Q’

The escape room ‘Katze Q’ – which is currently closed – is based on the multi-award-winning app ‘Katze Q – A Quantum Adventure’. Players are sent on a journey into the crazy world of quantum physics to free the cute, half-dead cat Q from its box.

‘Katze Q’ is packed with more than 20 scientific facts about the fascinating world of quantum physics. But don’t worry: it never gets boring, we promise!

The ‘Katze Q’ app was developed in collaboration with the ct.qmat Cluster of Excellence. Anna Braunizer – the real great-granddaughter of Erwin Schrödinger – has taken on the role of patron, together with her father Leonhard.

The game is free, with no adverts and no in-app purchases – thanks to funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the ‘Research in Germany’ initiative.

On Cloud Nine.
The Climate and Us

That sun again, still that pesky rain – or when on earth is the snow finally going to come? We talk about the weather every day, but when do we talk about the climate and climate change? What does the rise in global average temperatures of around 1 °C since 1990 mean? Is that a lot? Why is that the case? What does it have to do with us? And what can I do, and what happens next?

This interactive science exhibition provides insights into the methods and latest findings of climate research, explains the causes, extent and consequences of global warming, offers experiments on the greenhouse effect, displays objects and concrete examples of climate change in the region, and facilitates the exchange of views and reflection on one’s own actions.

All exhibition content is accessible via a virtual tour.
